RELIGIONS, SPIRITUALITIES, AND ETHIC IN EUROPE TODAY.
I'm a title
From the statistics we procured in the presentation we found that 56% of those who were asked agreed more strongly with the Roman Catholic argument against human cloning. However it must be highlighted that both arguments relied upon the religious imperative of their defences. This in turn weakened their arguments in the context of French law as there is, as highlighted in the section on Läicité, no interference between Church and State.
Conclusion.
To summarise all that has been raised throughout this website through highlighting the key points of the argument. The Roman Catholic Church presents its argument based upon it’s document on the respect for human life. In this were presented three arguments: the inseparability principle, language of the body and the procreation-reproduction argument. Through this line of thought we see how the Catholics present and defend their stance on the immorality of scientifically creating life. The Raelians defence relies upon their central beliefs around extraterrestrial’s part in human creation and the developments towards a world which knows the ways of the ‘Elohim’. They hold that they are the first group to hold a religious rationale in support of human cloning. They see it as a religious imperative to pursue the works of their creators. Finally they presented the case of monozygotic twins which are naturally occurring twins and that this dispels the fears that human cloning often brings into question.
Now you have seen the argument from both sides, how would you vote? Do you agree with the Raelians and think that human cloning should be given the go ahead in France? Or do you think the Roman Catholics are right and we should not interfere with the natural process of human reproduction?
